This poster appeared at some California college where they were cutting down
some old trees and there were hippies in the trees trying to stop it.

This has inspired me.

FIRST THEY CAME

First they came for the tree-sitters,
but I didn’t say anything because I am not a tree-sitter.
Then they came for the squatters,
but I didn’t say anything because I am not a squatter.
Next, they came for the anarchists,
but I didn’t say anything because I am not an anarchist.
Then they came for the stinky hippies,
but I didn’t say anything because I am not a stinky hippie.
Next they came for the whiny pinkos,
but I didn’t say anything because I am not a whiny pinko.
Then they came for the tolerance enforcers,
but I didn’t say anything because I am not one.
Next they came for the people who compare the US
to Nazi Germany, but I didn’t say anything because
that’s too stupid to be worth it.
Then they came for people who wear
those ridiculous palestinian scarves,
but I didn’t say anything
because my scarf has Jerusalem crosses on it.
Next they came for the hippies who shower every so often,
and now I’m starting to think, “Sweet.”
Then they came for me and said,
“hey grab that idiot in the pink dress, will ya?” 
And I said, “Nice.”
